An Afternoon Tea at Frosts Garden Centre

Frosts Garden Centre

Who doesn’t love a birthday? I love any reason to celebrate and have a good time, and recently I did exactly that. One of my lovely friends was celebrating her birthday, so we decided to celebrate with a beautiful afternoon tea at Frosts Garden Centre in Woburn Sands.

For £15 you can have tea or coffee, and you can add a bottle of champagne for £33 or half a bottle for £17.50. At the price of £15 it worked out cheaper than celebrating with a usual meal out – perfect for those of us who are watching their pennies at the moment! Plus, it was really nice to do something a little different.

Tea at Frosts

All the cakes and sandwiches were freshly handmade on the day and were carefully placed on beautiful bone china cake stands. Teapots and gorgeous tea cups adorned the table – it was perfect! I wish I could eat like this every day!

Sandwiches at Frosts

We had a lovely selection of sandwiches, which included; ham, tomato and chutney, coronation chicken and my favourite two which were brie & cranberry and salmon & cream cheese. Yum!

Cake Stand

Cake wise we had… passionfruit mousse, macaroons, mini lemon meringue pies, mini Victoria sponges (which were super cute!), strawberries – and of course, no afternoon tea would be complete without classic scones with strawberry jam and super yummy clotted cream.

We also had A LOT of tea!!! It was a wonderful afternoon, everything was so tasty and I’d highly recommend trying it out.

You may not have ever really considered visiting garden centres for a day out, but some of them are so much more than just plants and pots! Some have huge shopping areas which can be perfect for gifts and other lovely bits and bobs – they always seem to have a nice calm atmosphere too. You could get lost in them for hours! Plus, they usually have a café full of lots of yummy goodies, whether you’re after a lunch or just tea and cake. It’s definitely worth checking out your local centre for a nice chilled day out.
