My Wishes For The Year Ahead

UK Fashion Blogger

Tomorrow I turn one year older, eeek!

It’s that time of year where you start analysing where you’re at, how far you’ve come and what you’d still like to achieve with your life – you know…deep thoughts time! Ha!

On the whole I’m pretty pleased with what I’ve achieved in my twenties so far…I have a good job, I own my own home, I own a lovely car – and to top it all off, I have an amazing family, group of friends and boyfriend. I consider myself very lucky!

However, like everyone, there’s always ways to be better, to achieve more and generally get more out of life. So this evening I thought I’d write down a little list of wishes for the year ahead to get things started :)

Trips and travel

I’ve travelled a little bit, but I want to do a little more and go to a few more “serious” travel type places. I’m talking New York, the west coast of America, European cities, exotic places, etc. etc. I want to see the world and go to different places that I’ve never been before.

Besides travelling abroad, I’d also like to view more of the beautiful island we have the pleasure of living on. I want more seaside trips, I want to see beautiful lakes, I want to see more mountains and rolling hills. Wouldn’t that be lovely?!

Get Healthy & Exercise

Yes! That old chestnut! The one that everyone says every day but most of us end up saying “…sod it! Pass me the cake!”

However, the more I think about it, the more I realise how bloody important it is for health reasons to make better food choices more often and exercise when possible. So it’s time for me to get a little more serious about it really…I think my older self will thank me for it! …and if I look and feel a little better in regards to my appearance, then that’s a bonus!

Care less, do more

Day by day I’m getting better at this…I think? But I want to care a lot less about what might go wrong, what people may think etc and just bloody go for what I want – we should all strive to do that, right?! Life is too short to worry. Who knows what will happen tomorrow, so let’s just be brave, jump in the deep end and think about what could go right! It’s all about the positive thinking! :)

Be more organised

I’m relatively good at making lists etc. etc. but I feel I could be a little more organised and productive to ensure I’m making the most of every day. I want to have a few more days where I feel I can look back on the day and be super proud of what I’ve achieved that day, thanks to the energy I threw into it. I better hunt down that old diary of mine and get started…

Make more of an effort

I’m not saying I look like a scruff every day, haha! But I’d just like to dress up a little more and play around with beauty products/makeup a little more this year. After years of saving like a crazy person to have money for my home/new car etc I spent a lot less money, time and effort on this section of my life. So it’s definitely time to have a little more fun with my outfits and style I think!! Time for a whole new wardrobe…what a shame!! Ha!

Live a more decluttered life

Clear space = clear mind! I totally believe in that. I feel SO much better when my living space is tidy, clean and clear of clutter. So lately I’ve been clearing out all my old clothes, jewellery, makeup etc that I don’t use or haven’t used and I’ve been selling it via Facebook selling groups, eBay and the Shpock selling app. Not only have I made a decent amount of money from it but I’ve been making lots of room too, and it feels SOOO good!! I can’t recommend trying it out enough!

…and of course this blog!

Recently I’ve worked more on my blogging than I have ever done before and I’m really proud of that. It’s given me some great experiences, helped me to enjoy more of the little things in life and allows me to do exactly what I love doing – writing and posting! So looking ahead I’ll definitely be keeping all this fun blogging lark up and I hope to stretch myself further across the year, learn more skills and reach & interact with more and more people :)

So….ta daaa!! There’s my little wish list for the year ahead when I celebrate being one year older tomorrow – eeek!! What are your wishes for the year ahead?! I’d love some inspiration! :)

This looks like a well-rounded list. The more places I visit, the more I want to travel. My husband and I are currently living in Vancouver, Canada and it is beautiful. I have mixed feelings about our year abroad ending in a few months time!

What a wonderful list! I hope you are able to accomplish everything you want in the year to come (and many years to follow)! Happy belated birthday! :)
