I was recently invited along to the Too Faced fall (ya know, a.k.a. “Autumn”) collection masterclass in Debenhams (found inside intu Milton Keynes).
The session was based around discovering the brand, their background, who the masterminds are behind it all and uncovering their products for the new season.
All attendees met up with the team at the Too Faced counter in the beauty section and were then led to the upstairs café. The team had cordoned off an area, ready for all the masterclass fun!
Straight away we were offered glasses of Prosecco or orange juice and a yummy biscuit, so who was I to say no to that after a long busy day at work!?
We watched a couple of videos to get under the skin of Too Faced cosmetics. One was all about the founders of the brand Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson – who came across as two very lovely and funny people! The second video was all about their head office, which looks absolutely amazing!!
Now, I’m going to be completely honest with you. Before this masterclass, I was a Too Faced virgin (man that sounds bad!) …but it’s true! So this masterclass was perfect for me to completely discover the brand from fresh.
On to the products I loved…
I completely fell in love with the Hangover Face Primer, which is infused with coconut water and not only does it do wonders for your skin…it makes this primer smell amazing as you apply it too! This one went straight on my wish list.
Born This Way Concealer…this totally just makes me want to sing it in the style of Lady Gaga… “Baby I was born this way…”. Now I’m not one to wear makeup to work as I’m not ever so keen on wearing makeup every single day on my skin, but, concealer is one thing I do usually have a little dab of each morning to just slightly cover up the odd one or two blemishes. So I definitely had to try this product out and I was really impressed with it. The consistency was lovely and again, the product is infused with coconut water, making it super hydrating. I’ve actually been looking for a cruelty free replacement to replace my current product – so I think this will do the trick nicely!
I’ve only recently tried a few lip colours, I’ve usually been a lip balm and go kinda girl. However, I tried out the Melted Matte Lipstick in the colour “Cool Girl” and oh my! What a colour! I absolutely loved the liquid consistency of this product too. Honestly, this product is definitely worth a try next time you pop by the Too Faced counter. I really want to go back and check out all the different shades.
With a complete collection of makeup products, from the above to mascaras, bronzers, foundation and sooo much more! Too Faced will definitely fulfil all of your makeup wishes!
Final thoughts on the session…
There were a few team members on hand, ready to show you the new products, how to apply them, share their top tips and to speak to you on a one-on-one basis for any questions you may have.
I found the team to be so approachable, which I feel is really key to ensure that those (like me!) who still have a lot to learn about makeup feel at ease to ask questions and try out products.
One of the best things to note about the range is that it is cruelty free, and as I’ve mentioned before in previous blogs, brands get a big big thumbs up from me when they are – because, shouldn’t all brands be!?
The masterclass was attended by people of all types of skin colour and age, with many of them being big fans of the brand’s existing products. I think this is great to see as it proves the range is accessible and usable for everyone!
*intu provided me with a free ticket to review this event, but the views on the masterclass and the products are very much my own :)
