I guess it’s that time of year again to reflect back on what’s happened over the past 12 months. And, for me, 2016 has been a pretty damn awesome year!

One of the first things I accomplished as I had just stepped into the year, was to *finally* complete on purchasing the final 25% share of my home. So I now own 100% of my home (with a mortgage of course! I’m not that minted, ha!). Reaching this goal is a HUGE achievement for me! When I first bought my home, they would only allow me to purchase it on a 75% share, so I had to wait until a certain time frame to then apply to purchase the final 25%. So as soon as the time came I applied (waited many a month) and then it finally all went through! Yipee!! I really don’t want to sound like I’m bragging when I write about this kind of achievement, (it’s always awkward when you discuss money-related achievements), but when you set yourself a goal of buying your own home at the age of 17 and then work bloody hard for years on end towards it, doing it all off your own back without any “gifted” house deposit money/inheritance from family, and without earning any more than average wages, etc. etc. – I think you’re allowed to be a teeny bit proud of yourself. I think!? It’s really proved to me that if you put your mind to something, there’s a possibility you can do it!

Next up was my new car! I had my beloved little Clio for just under 10 years and earlier this year we sadly had to part ways. I will never forget my trusty lil Clio, she did me fantastically well as a first car and was a fun little thing. However, it was time to get something a little sportier, with an extra 100+ bhp to boot. In came my new baby, the Toyota GT86. Oh my! It’s so much fun! I do now live on a diet of spaghetti on toast to recoup my money, but it’s worth every tomatoey mouthful. (I am joking, don’t worry!). But yes, I can’t recommend this car enough, it’s a whole heap of fun…I just need to learn how to drift now…haha.

So that’s two major life things ticked off! Scary. But great!
Here’s the other fun bits that happened throughout 2016…

A wonderful holiday in Cala Millor, Majorca with Ian, where we had the most stunning view from our hotel room, travelled around the island discovering amazing places and stuffed our faces with delicious food and drinks!

A lovely British holiday to Lyme Regis and the surrounding areas with my parents – every time I go on holiday to the English coast (especially the south) I fall in love and want to move there!

A weekend in London, staying at the Citizen M Bankside hotel. I won a stay for 2 nights at this hotel (how lucky!). We paired this trip up with my birthday celebrations and Ian treated us to the stunning views from the Shard and afternoon tea in Harrods – it was simply amazing!

A few moments of fame on the local radio station after winning a load of Krispy Kreme doughnuts for my colleagues! I still haven’t listening to the recording of it…

An experience of a lifetime, after being offered the chance to go gliding thanks to someone at work. We (the trained pilot who sat behind me & I!) flew up high being tethered by another plane, before being released into the air to float around in this engine-less plane. At first it feels a little eerie whilst looking down at the ground 1000s of feet below you in silence, but you soon adapt and take in the amazing views – you can see for miles! I even got the chance to take control of the glider too…so I basically flew a plane!!

A trip to my first ever British Formula 1 Gran Prix (thank you Ian for my ticket!) – meaning I luckily got to see Jenson Button drive his last British F1 GP. I’ve grown up watching F1 since I was born, so to finally go and see it for real was amazing!

An amazing year of blogging! My blogging and theatre review writing (I write theatre reviews for have provided me with some truly awesome experiences this year, of which I am eternally grateful. Of course, I have to mention all of the lovely new blogger friends I have made in the process – it’s been so fab to meet new people! I can’t wait for more fun blogging times in 2017!

Hello 2017!!!

Sooo…a new year is here! 365 chances to make more dreams come true and undertake even more adventures!

This year I have two main aims.

My first aim is a pretty cliché new year’s resolution – to lose weight! 2 stone is the goal…and I think I can achieve it! A couple of years ago I managed to lose 2.5 stone gradually over a year(ish), so there’s no reason why I can’t do it again. I’m hoping to share my progress in some form either on my blog or at least on my social media, so feel free to follow me to see if I can achieve my goal! (Find me on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook – My blog’s Facebook page is brand spanking new so it would be amazing if you join me over there!).

My second aim is to simply grab every opportunity I can to enjoy life and push myself forwards this year. Applying this to every aspect to ensure I’m getting the most out of life. I want to eat well, exercise more (my first aim will help with this!), thus keeping my energy levels and “get go” vibe high. 2017…bring it on!

Finally, I just want to wish you a very happy 2017! It’s a fresh new year, a fresh new opportunity. So let’s go enjoy life to the full and achieve our dreams! 🙂 #cheeseyquote ……….HAPPY NEW YEAR!
