Hello autumn/winter 2018!
Who’s ready to treat themselves to a few new pieces for the new season?
Thursday evening was all about the autumn/winter 2018 intu Milton Keynes blogger event. If you’ve read my posts about the intu blogger events before, you’ll know that each season we’re challenged with finding our favourite pieces from the stores at intu, right here in Milton Keynes. (You can read my SS18 post *here*).
This time, we were each given a different selection of stores. My stores? I was given New Look, Schuh and Debenhams…basically all the places you’ll find me hiding on the weekend…
intu understand that we can’t always buy a whole brand new wardrobe each season, because, you know, adulting and all that. So the challenge was all about finding those key pieces that you can piece together with items you already own, so you can be totally on trend, without the need to live on beans on toast for the rest of the season.
Here’s my top 5 picks for AW18 from intu Milton Keynes!
Leopard print lovin’
Look at this bag…just take a moment. Isn’t it lovely?
I already had a few Instagram messages about this New Look bag when I popped it up on my Instagram stories on Thursday evening…so be quick if you fancy this one, I have a feeling it might be snapped up!
Leopard print is EVERYWHERE this season. Add a little splash of this to your outfit and you’ll be on trend straight away. I think this bag is just perfect. It’s a good size, allowing you to use it for work and fun days out. I love small bags, but sometimes you just need something a little bigger for those extra bits and bobs…like an umbrella for the autumn rain! (New Look, £19.99).
I just looove a good chunky funky boot when it comes to boot season. I have a few in my collection now!
These ones by Schuh (£45) are fab and will go with just about everything this season. You can choose between either black or tan too, so pick the colour that will best go with your usual clothes colour palette and you’ll be able to reach for these time and time again.
If you know me. You’ve probably seen me practically living in my black fluffy jacket that I’ve had for years now. So if I can recommend anything for you to invest in, it would be one of these fluffy cardigans from New Look (£22.99). They have an amazing selection to choose from in store, so you’ll find a style and colour for you if this one isn’t your cup of tea. Doesn’t this colour just scream autumn/winter though!?
So what’s so great about a fluffy cardigan? Not only do they look ah-mazing, they’re cosy, so comfy and they don’t require any ironing – a big plus in my eyes. Haha!
Bright and happy
Okay, so reminding myself of this jumper, I might just have to go back and buy it…and everything else in the H! by Henry Holland collection in Debenhams to be honest. Isn’t this just the best? If you want to stand out this season, add a splash of colour and still be on trend…let this be the conversation starter between your friends.
It’s bright, it’s happy, it’s cosy. What’s not to love? Definitely go and check out the whole H! range in Debenhams, there’s the most beautiful midi skirts, the coolest slogan jumpers and it’s all just so lovely. (H! by Henry Holland jumper, £35).
Bang on trend
It’s the shade we’re all loving right now. Whether it’s on our clothes, our walls at home or our Instagram feed, millenial pink is everywhere. This cord pinafore dress by Red Herring in Debenhams (£29) is possibly the most on trend piece of all.
Pinafore dresses are another super cute trend you’ll see everywhere this season, and with this one, you can tick off the colour trend too! I’d pair it up with a little white tee underneath on warmer days, or a black long sleeved top on cooler days.
New in beauty for autumn/winter 2018…
If you’re looking to invest in some lovely new beauty buys for the new season, here’s a little taster of what’s new at intu Milton Keynes…
All of these brands are cruelty free too!
Urban Decay have brought out their Born to Run palette, which is a gorgeous all-rounder palette, with shades you can use all year round. This would make a great investment palette that you could use across all the seasons…or maybe a great Christmas present for someone who loves Urban Decay?
I love the look of their Naked Petite Heat palette too! Inspired by their full sized Naked Heat palette, this little one has a great range of shades, but in a size that’s great to travel with. This would be just perfect for both smoky autumn eyes as well as hot summer trips away!
You can find the Urban Decay counter in the beauty section at Debenhams Milton Keynes.
bareMinerals have a gorgeous new collection of highlighters in a range of shades. Do pop by and speak to the ladies on the bareMinerals counter in Debenhams at intu Milton Keynes, as they’re always lovely in there and I’m sure they’d love to help you find your perfect shade.
How lovely are these new eyeshadow palettes too? The colours of the Gen Nude – Golden Tempress palette (top) are just perfect for this time of year, with the shimmery shades being perfect for those upcoming wintertime festive parties! The shades in the Gen Nude – Rose Rebel palette (bottom) are so wearable and again, it’s a great investment palette for all year round.
The Halloween collection is now in store at Lush! Step into the fun world of pumpkins, cats, eyeballs and more – all whilst making your skin smell and feel lovely. Little kids and big kids alike will all love this collection. It’s all so fun, but they’re also filled with the most gorgeous ingredients, as always with Lush’s beautiful products.
A little birdie also told me that their Christmas range will be landing in stores in just 2 weeks’ time, so get putting your pennies aside ready for that!
